Before any treatment, small everyday changes can quietly improve your chances. Here are honest, doable habits for both partners.
When you are trying for a baby, it is easy to feel that you must do something big or expensive. But often the first real help comes from simple, steady changes at home - for both of you, not just the wife.
Start with the basics, together
Fertility is a two-person story. The health of both partners matters, so it helps when both of you make these changes together instead of one person carrying it alone.
- Eat more home-cooked, fresh food and cut down on very oily or packaged snacks.
- Sleep 7–8 hours - poor sleep upsets the hormones that control ovulation.
- Move your body most days. A brisk 30-minute walk is enough to begin.
- Cut tobacco and heavy alcohol. Both lower egg and sperm quality.
Track your cycle, gently
Knowing your fertile days makes a real difference. You do not need costly apps or kits to start - noting the first day of each period for a few months already tells us a lot.
Most couples do not have a serious problem - they simply need the right timing and a little patience.
When to see a doctor
If you are under 35 and have been trying for a year (or six months if you are over 35), it is worth a simple check-up for both partners. Coming early does not mean you need treatment - it just helps find the reason sooner, if there is one.
